Barb is our longest-serving Board member and has held various officer positions over the years. Barb is our “historian” of sorts and keeps our Bylaws current. She is also an equine lover and can be found at Alasa Farms every Saturday, tending to the animals.
Holly was recently elected to serve on our Board after being a Trail Works member for many years. She enjoys cheering for her grandchildren’s sports activities and quilting with the Park Church quilt group.
Caileigh joined our Board in January 2024 as an at-large member. She has attended many of our organized hikes over the years. She likes fishing, hiking, and anything outdoors, along with her husband, Mike, who also serves on our Board. She is excited to continue on our Board as secretary.
Nancy came to Trail Works in 2018 after completing all 30 trails in the Passport system. She likes hiking, XC skiing, and snowshoeing. She is the Trail Works membership person, the DEC Liaison, and a co-editor of the Trail Works newsletter. Nancy loves her backyard birds and is also a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club.
Gary is our main trail maintenance person, our “branch manager.” He replaces signage, repairs our Passport posts, and constructed and repairs the small footbridge at Third Creek Trail. Gary is an ADK 46er, enjoys time alone in the woods, and can ride a unicycle! He has also completed the Cranberry Lake 50 Challenge.
Gil is the annual leader of our “Canal Clean Sweep” on Earth Day, cleaning up different sections along the Erie Canal. He has generously donated his time over the years to this event and lures his helpers with coffee and donuts each year!
Mark has served on our Board for several years in various officer positions. He enjoys XC skiing and kayaking. He is also the yearly force behind the gardens at the Trail of Hope. Many of the murals around Wayne County have been painted by Mark’s “Mural Mania” team. Mark is also a bird lover and ADK46er.
Tom joined Trail Works in 2024 and began leading hikes along his three favorite lakeside parks: Cornwall Preserve, Beechwood, and Chimney Bluffs State Parks. A hallmark of his hikes are visits to nearby family-run wineries or restaurants post-hike. Tom’s love of the outdoors began on his parent’s tree farm in West Virginia and culminated with climbing adventures on the West Coast, where he summited Mts. Baker, Lassen, Whitney, and Half Dome. These days, his outdoor passions include kayaking, birding, tree identification, and learning & sharing the rich history of Wayne County.
Mike joined our Board in January 2024 and continues as an at-large member. He has attended many of our organized events over the years. He enjoys fishing, hiking, and anything outdoors along with his wife, Caileigh, our Board secretary. We welcome his contributions to our Board.
Sal resides at Beechwood State Park, where he is the park manager and caretaker. Sal joined Trail Works several years ago, serving as a member-at-large. He has led hikes and hosted other events for Trail Works at Beechwood, all while maintaining the full-time job at the Park. He has been instrumental in keeping Camp Beechwood a wonderful and peaceful place for all to visit.
Glenn has served on our Board for several years as a member-at-large. Glenn enjoys riding his bike and has led many biking events for Trail Works over the years, especially along the Erie Canal trail. Glenn also leads the Trail Works effort to research and apply for grants for Pomeroy Historic Markers spotted at many of our historic trail locations.
